The hotel
Nine gems and an observatory.
Devi Ratn takes its name from the Nav Ratn, the nine gemstones that stand for cosmic energy in Vedic tradition. The architects Pronit and Amish Nath made no attempt at a heritage copy. They worked the colours of precious stones and the metals of Jaipur's jewellers into a contemporary building, and took its geometry from Jantar Mantar, the observatory raised in the city in the 18th century.
The hotel stands on the Agra Road east of the city, with the Aravalli hills in front of it. It opened as Devi Ratn under IHCL's SeleQtions label, grew to 145 rooms and suites in 2023 with a new spa block and a fourth restaurant, and now carries the Taj name. The MICHELIN Guide gives it one Key. Each of the three villas is built round a courtyard with a plunge pool.
- The villas Three villas of about 2,000 square feet each, built round private courtyards with a plunge pool and a Jacuzzi.
- The pool A temperature-controlled outdoor pool of 25 metres, with Jal, the café, beside it.
- J Wellness Circle The spa, housed in its own building since the 2023 extension.
