The hotel

Santiago Medina's house on Carrera 7.

Santiago Medina Mejía, a Colombian artist as well as an architect, finished the building in 1946. He gave it French and Spanish details: heavy beams, hand-carved doors and wooden furniture, and rooms set around a courtyard. The house was recognised for its architectural heritage in 1984 and later declared a Monument of Cultural Interest. It opened as a hotel in 1988 and became a favourite of the city's politicians and business people.

Four Seasons reopened it on 15 October 2015, after a restoration that kept the old fabric and brought its systems up to date. Each of the 62 rooms was redecorated separately, some with fireplaces. The financial district and the restaurants of Zona G are a few steps away. A spa and a gym open around the clock are kept for Four Seasons guests. In 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel its first Key.
