The hotel

A Miami line on Grace Bay.

The resort opened in 2009 as Gansevoort Turks + Caicos, on four acres of Grace Bay Beach. Its developers kept it, and in 2019 they gave it a name of their own, Wymara. The look stayed: three white buildings, mostly monochrome rooms with dark wood and bright accents, and glass from floor to ceiling so that every room faces the sea. The owner, Bruce Maclaren, grew up in Ottawa.

The resort later grew a second half. At Sunset Cove, a separate site on the island, Wymara Villas has 15 oceanfront houses of one to six bedrooms, some with overwater swim decks and waterslides, and its own restaurant, Land + Sea. In 2026 the villas became the first Forbes Five-Star property in the Turks and Caicos. Andrew Mirosch, the culinary director, runs the kitchens at both sites.

Getting there

Flying to Providenciales.

Providenciales International (PLS) is about ten to twelve minutes away by car, with direct flights from North America and British Airways from London. Private jets use the same airport, where Provo Air Center handles arrivals.

Business & First Class Airline arrivals Direct flights come from 16 North American cities, among them New York, Miami, Washington, Houston, Toronto and Montreal. British Airways flies from London Heathrow on Thursdays and Sundays, with a one-hour stop in Nassau. Request a fare Private Jet Private terminal Provo Air Center, on the north side of the runway, has handled private aircraft since 2001. Guests are met at the aircraft and clear customs and immigration from a golf cart, in what it calls the world's first drive-through customs hall. It is one of two service providers at the airport.
