The hotel

A town hotel kept for grown-ups.

The Schwarzer Adler sits on Florianigasse, at the edge of Kitzbühel's centre, a five-minute walk from both the old town and the Hahnenkamm gondola. It takes guests from sixteen and has no family rooms or children's facilities. The MICHELIN Guide gave it a Key in its first Austrian selection and kept it in 2026.

Inside, the rooms are modern and pared back: natural materials, deep headboards, recessed light and windows down to the floor, some of them facing the mountains. The spa covers about a thousand square metres with an indoor pool. In summer the roof opens as a terrace with an outdoor pool and a bar, with views of the mountains.

  • The roof in summer An outdoor pool and a bar on the roof terrace, with the mountains all round. It opens in the warm months only.
  • The spa About a thousand square metres, with an indoor pool, a sauna, a gym and massages.
  • The Secret Bar A bar the guide singles out, and a second one with an open fire.
