The city
Four valleys, one ridge of rock.
Verbier sits at 1,500 metres above Le Châble, where the gondola from the valley runs from five in the morning until nearly midnight. From the village the lifts climb to Mont Fort at 3,330 metres and link into the 4 Vallées, with 410 kilometres of slopes and seventy-two lifts on a single pass.
The season opens on the first weekend of December and runs to late April, with the Mont-Fort sector open from mid-December to mid-April. The freeride world gathers here for Xtreme Verbier, and summer brings the Verbier Festival and its concerts.
