The hotel

The Golden Palace, renamed.

The building opened on 2 March 2013 as the Golden Palace, a white marble block with a gilded central dome on the slopes of Mount Teghenis, the president of Armenia at the ribbon. Two years later it hosted the World Team Chess Championship. Its owner, a former head of the customs service, later handed it to the state, which put it up for auction.

Project Inter-Invest bought it in 2022, renovated it and reopened it in February 2024 as Eighty Eight Hotel & Spa, with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the opening. There are now 126 rooms over seven storeys. Tsaghkadzor is a ski resort, and the eleventh-century Kecharis monastery is about twenty minutes away on foot. Inside are a 38-metre pool, a hammam, a cinema hall and three function rooms, the largest for up to six hundred guests.

  • Ski in The ski park is about a hundred metres away, with a slope down to the Tsaghkadzor cable car.
  • The pool A 38-metre swimming pool, with a sauna, a hammam, a gym and a spa for massage and facials.
