The hotel
Lamantin Beach, renamed.
Lamantin Beach opened at Saly in 2003, on the Petite Côte south of Dakar, and ran under its own name for almost twenty years. In October 2022 Accor took over the management for the owner, Kasada, and refurbished it in stages before raising the Mövenpick name. Lamantin is the French word for the manatee. The resort now counts 186 rooms and suites, four restaurants and a spa of 750 square metres.
The resort sits on the beach at Saly Nord, about 80 km south of Dakar, with a lagoon in the grounds. Rooms start at 28 square metres. At the top end come the Prestige Suites over the beach and the Floating rooms, each with a rooftop terrace, a spa bath and a home cinema. Families take the rooms with two queen beds, and children have a club of their own.
- Mövenpick Spa A spa and fitness centre of 750 square metres.
- The Lagoon A lagoon inside the grounds, and a separate Prestige Pool.
- Little Birds Club A free club for children, a playground and a children's pool, with activities for teenagers too.
