The hotel
The Luxury Collection comes to Armenia.
The Alexander opened in March 2019 as the first Luxury Collection hotel in Armenia and, by Marriott's account, the first internationally branded luxury hotel in Yerevan. It stands on Abovyan Street, a few minutes from Republic Square, and about five on foot from the Opera Theatre. An eighteenth-century façade was kept and built into the entrance. The owner is the Armenian company Tsupani, and Marriott runs the hotel.
Behind it rise fifteen floors with 114 rooms and suites, many with balconies. Alexander James Interior Design dressed them with Armenian motifs and gold accents. The Presidential Suite takes up an entire floor. On the top floor the Italian restaurant looks out over the city, and the hotel has the first indoor pool in Yerevan, with a view of Mount Ararat.
- The indoor pool The first in the city, free for guests, with Mount Ararat in view.
- Alexander Spa Treatments by Anne Semonin, with a gym and a beauty salon alongside.
- The Keys A private club for cigars, wines and spirits, also used for small gatherings.
