The hotel
A manor beside a Templar castle.
In the grounds stand the ruins of a castle of the thirteenth century, about eight hundred years old, which the resort links to the Knights Templar, to Strongbow and to Walter Raleigh. The manor house beside them is centuries younger, and its rooms keep their period character. Afternoon tea is served beneath a decorated plaster ceiling, and Terre, the two-star dining room, is in the same house.
The house was enlarged and opened as a hotel in 2008, with a spa and a golf course set across 220 acres of woodland, gardens and a lake. Ron Kirby laid out the course as an inland links. The spa uses ESPA treatments around a twenty-metre pool, and in 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel one Key. It belongs to the Mayrange Hospitality Group.
- Terre Two MICHELIN stars and a single tasting menu, served in the manor house.
- The spa ESPA treatments, and a 20-metre pool in a spa of about 2,270 square metres.
- Golf An eighteen-hole inland links by Ron Kirby, with a driving range and tennis.
