The hotel

A hamlet built from old farms.

In the 1980s Jocelyne and Jean-Louis Sibuet bought old barns and sheds around the region, took them down and kept the wood. They rebuilt them as a hamlet of nine chalets in a two-hectare park at the edge of Megève, and opened Les Fermes de Marie in 1989. It still belongs to the family group, Maisons & Hôtels Sibuet, and has kept its seventy rooms.

The rooms are dressed with Savoyard antiques and the old timber of the farms. The grandest suites sit in the stone tower of the farms, and family chalets put the children's rooms on the ground floor with the parents upstairs. The spa, with thirteen treatment rooms, was the first of the Pure Altitude spas, and a library, a bar and a ski shop complete the hamlet.

  • Pure Altitude spa The first of the line, with thirteen treatment rooms, an indoor pool with a swimming lane, a jacuzzi, a sauna and a steam room.
  • Le Carnotzet A small cheese room for hotel guests: terrine, fondue and raclette, then dessert.
  • For families A kids' club, childcare on request and family chalets laid out with children on one floor and parents on the next.
