The hotel
A courthouse on Riemergasse.
Alfred Keller designed the building for the Commercial Court, the Handelsgericht, in the early years of the twentieth century. It stands on Riemergasse, inside the Ringstrasse and a short walk from the Stadtpark. The building is listed, and the conversion took longer than planned: the hotel was first due in 2023, and neighbours' objections and a long approval process pushed it back to 2025.
The London studio Goddard Littlefair did the interiors. They restored the monumental staircase and the waffle ceiling, and in the rooms left the old brickwork and stucco on show beside big windows and soft colours. Humbert & Poyet of Monaco designed the restaurants and bars. Twenty-five private residences fill the top three floors, and the hotel is the group's first in Austria.
- Atelier 7 Brasserie, café, izakaya and bar under one glass roof, from Viennese coffee in the morning to Japanese-inspired cocktails at night.
- Le Sept The fine dining room, cooking French and Asian dishes around seafood, open Thursday to Saturday evenings.
- The Spa Seven treatment rooms with a suite for couples, an indoor pool, a sauna, a hammam and a gym, below ground.
