The hotel
EDITION's second address in Tokyo.
The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza opened in December 2023, three years after its sister hotel in Toranomon. The building has fourteen floors and 86 rooms and suites, just off Chuo-dori. Ginza had few luxury hotels before it, and the standard rooms, from about 41 square metres, were the largest of their kind in the district when it opened. The MICHELIN Guide lists Ginza Shinohara and BEIGE Alain Ducasse among its neighbours.
Ian Schrager, who created EDITION, worked on it with the architect Kengo Kuma. The building wears a latticed metal front and vertical gardens. Inside, the art in the rooms is by Sayaka Maruyama and Takay Photography, and Punch Room Tokyo is the brand's first punch bar in Japan. Up on the roof is the first natural wine bar in Ginza.
- Punch Room Tokyo A lounge in the manner of a 19th-century London club, where punch comes to the table in bowls to share.
- The ROOF A bar on the top of the building for champagne, natural wine and cocktails made with Japanese spirits.
- Sophie at EDITION An all-day Italian trattoria with handmade pasta from Japanese and Italian produce, and afternoon tea.
