The hotel
A courtyard by the station.
Le Méridien opened on Bayerstraße in 2002, directly across from the south entrance of Munich's main station, and was refurbished in 2016. The building rises nine floors around an inner courtyard, so the rooms on that side look away from the traffic and the trains. The S-Bahn from the airport stops across the road. Bright blue artwork covers the lobby windows, so the entrance is easy to miss.
In the warmer months the courtyard becomes a beer garden for IRMI, the hotel's Bavarian restaurant. The Theresienwiese, where the Oktoberfest is held, is about seven minutes away on foot, and the old town begins a few streets east at Karlsplatz. Below ground, the spa covers 750 square metres around a pool of about seventeen metres, which the hotel counts among the longest in the city.
- Le SPA 750 square metres with a heated indoor pool of about seventeen metres, sauna and Babor treatments.
- IRMI Modern Bavarian cooking indoors, and a beer garden in the courtyard in summer.
- On the doorstep The Hauptbahnhof for the S-Bahn to the airport and trains across Germany, and the Oktoberfest grounds a short walk away.
