The hotel
A family house across the Isar.
The building dates from the 1980s, and its name is borrowed from the Palace in Merano, a hotel Roland and Doris Kuffler were fond of. The Kufflers are a Munich restaurant family: they also own the Spatenhaus and the Palais an der Oper, both beside the opera house. Roland has since died, and the hotel is now run by the group their sons Stephan and Sebastian lead.
It stands on Trogerstraße in Bogenhausen, on the east bank of the Isar, a residential district a little removed from the old town. The Prinzregententheater is round the corner, and the Villa Stuck and the English Garden are within walking distance. Most rooms look onto the garden behind the house, away from the street. In the warmer months the restaurant sets its tables out there.
- The garden An inner garden with a terrace, where the restaurant sets tables in the warmer months.
- Fourth floor A wellness area with sauna, steam bath and gym, and a roof terrace beside it.
- The minibar Included in every rate, along with water on arrival.
