The hotel
Three generations of one family.
Longueville Manor began as a fourteenth-century country house in St Saviour, close to St Helier. The estate runs to eighteen acres of gardens, fountains, footbridges and woodland under old oaks and maples. It marked seventy-five years as a hotel in 2024, and it has belonged to Relais & Châteaux since 1972. It was also the first hotel in Jersey to have a swimming pool.
Malcolm Lewis is the third generation to run it, and his wife Patricia decorated the rooms, mixing antiques with modern pieces. The kitchen has had the same head chef, Andrew Baird, since 1990. The kitchen garden supplies most of its fruit, vegetables and herbs, and the old crypt is now a smokehouse for fish and meat. Dinner is in the Oak Room.
- The Oak Room Dinner in the fifteenth-century dining room, from a kitchen listed in the MICHELIN Guide, with a cheese trolley of more than thirty cheeses.
- The grounds A pool, a tennis court, woodland walks and the Cottage Garden spa, all within the estate.
- Out to sea A 44-foot yacht can be chartered for a day on the water around the island.
