The hotel
A cortijo in the Serranía de Ronda.
The estate lies in the hills of the Serranía de Ronda, close to the Route of the White Villages, with meadows, old oak forest and Roman and Arab ruins across its 700 hectares. An Austrian technology entrepreneur bought it in 2005 and spent six years restoring the farmhouse, a cortijo now more than a century old, in adobe, timber and stone around its original beams.
Five rooms are in the cortijo, two across the courtyard and two are yurts on the hillside. There is no front desk. The land is farmed by permaculture, with vineyards, olive groves and vegetable gardens supplying the kitchen, and the estate breeds Lusitano horses. Meals are taken in the courtyard or by the fire. It joined Relais & Châteaux in 2024 and entered the MICHELIN Keys in 2026.
- Lusitano horses An equestrian centre with a dressage arena, lessons for every level and trails across the estate.
- From the farm Full board, cooked by Nerea Ortiz de Urbina and Manuel Vargas from what the organic gardens produce that day.
- Into the hills Hiking, cycling, yoga and stargazing on the estate, and the Sierra de Grazalema close by.
