The hotel
Two coves on a long, thin island.
Eleuthera runs for about 110 miles and is barely a mile wide in places. Puritan settlers landed here in 1648 and named it after the Greek word for freedom. The Cove sits near Gregory Town in the north, on a bluff with a white sand beach on each side, on the inner arc of the island's northern end.
The first buildings went up in the 1960s, and the resort was restored and refitted in the 2010s, with white walls, plain modern furniture and rain showers. It joined Relais & Châteaux in 2025, the only member in the Bahamas, and holds a MICHELIN Key for the second year. Harbour Island and its pink beach lie across the water to the north-east.

Getting there
Flying to Harbour Island.
North Eleuthera airport is the nearest, with nonstop Delta and American flights from Atlanta, Charlotte and Miami and short hops from Fort Lauderdale and Nassau. Private jets are handled there by White Crown Aviation. The drive south to Gregory Town takes about 30 minutes by our estimate.
