Seven Mile Beach

The city
One long shore, open to all.
The sand belongs to everyone. Between George Town and West Bay, a guest of any hotel, or of none, can walk the whole curve, past Governor's Beach with its snorkelling, the cabanas and volleyball nets of Public Beach, and the shade of Cemetery Beach. Across the road, Camana Bay has its restaurants, cafés and a cinema. The shore is not fixed: Hurricane Helene sharpened the erosion in 2024, and in 2025 the Marriott announced 8,000 cubic yards of new sand for its stretch.
December to April is the dry stretch, at 29 to 31 °C with the water near 27. From May the rain returns, and October is the wettest month on the island.
Arriving
Two kilometres from the capital.
Owen Roberts International lies just east of George Town, at the southern end of the strip, so most hotels on the beach are a short drive from the aircraft.
