Twenty-five kilometres from Nadi.
The Mamanucas lie so close to Nadi that the airport is twenty-five kilometres from Malolo, the largest island in the group. Tourism Fiji counts them among the most picturesque parts of the country. The days here turn on the water: surfing, diving and sailing, and walks up into the hills for the view.
May to October is the drier season: days reach 27 to 29 °C and the sea 26 to 28 °C. From December to April rain is heavy, close to 300 mm in the wettest months, though the water stays at 28 to 29 °C.
- Malolo The largest of the Mamanucas, with a hill trail to its highest viewpoint and a long beach facing the sunset.
- The surf Waves for every level in every month of the year, within reach of the island resorts.
- From the air The ten-minute helicopter hop from Nadi, low over Viti Levu and the islands.
