The hotel
Bush, beach and a volcano tour.
Tanna Evergreen sits on the rocky limestone coast of west Tanna, a short drive north of White Grass airport. The land runs to more than 650 hectares: white sand beaches, a small marina, natural ponds, tracks through the bush and a private lake. The resort calls the reef in front its turtle reef, and the ocean bungalows look over it from the edge of the limestone shelf.
The resort is locally owned and runs its own tours as well as its rooms, with a fleet of vehicles for the trip across the island. The main one goes to Mount Yasur, on the east coast, leaving every afternoon. The drive across the island takes about two hours. Back at the resort there is an infinity pool by the sea, and a restaurant and bar that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Getting there
Flying to Tanna.
White Grass airport is about five minutes away, and the resort runs airport transfers. Scheduled flights come in from Port Vila in about 40 to 45 minutes. Private aircraft can also use White Grass, an airport of entry with customs, but the runway of about 1,230 metres has no lights, so arrivals are by day.
