The hotel
Beloved, in Lycian.
Ahãma takes its name from an ancient Lycian word for beloved. It stands in a private bay at Günlüklü, between Göcek, twenty minutes west, and Fethiye, thirty minutes east, inside some twenty hectares of forest. Much of it is sığla, the native liquidambar tree, which the resort works to protect. Some cabanas sit where the trees meet the sand; others are hidden higher up.
The interiors are by Stüdyo AB Architecture of Istanbul, with Gabriela Palatchi as creative director, in a wabi-sabi spirit of bleached textures and natural materials. The Mexican designer Hector Esrawe drew the Sound Temple. Rooms have no televisions, and the days run to sunrise yoga, forest bathing and sound baths by the water. Ahãma joined Relais & Châteaux in 2025 and holds one MICHELIN Key.
- Sound Temple Sound baths and gong sessions in a pavilion by Hector Esrawe, alongside t'ai chi, qi gong and watsu in the water.
- By boat Yachts can drop anchor in Günlüklü Bay, and lunches are served on Silent Beach, best reached by boat.
- Hammam and forest pool A marble hammam and three treatment rooms, and a pool under the pines with its own bar.
