The hotel
Across the water from Flores.
Bolontiku stands on Punta de Piedra Nitum, on the north shore of Lake Petén Itzá, across the water from the island town of Flores. Guests usually come by boat: the hotel's launch leaves from the Flores dock and the crossing takes ten to fifteen minutes. The rooms are spread through a tropical garden, each one placed for privacy and a view of the lake.
In March 2025 it became the first hotel in Guatemala to join The Cayuga Collection, a group of sustainable hotels in Central America, and it is also a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The MICHELIN Guide gave it one Key in its 2026 selection. Tikal, Yaxhá and El Mirador are all reached on guided trips from the hotel.

- On the lake Kayaks, paddleboards and bikes for guests, walking trails in the grounds, and the hotel's own boat.
- The Maya sites Guided excursions to Tikal, Yaxhá and El Mirador start from the hotel.
