The hotel
A solar island resort on Malolo.
Six Senses Fiji opened on 14 April 2018 on Malolo, the largest island in the Mamanuca group, about 120 acres of it given over to the resort. The first phase brought 24 villas of one or two bedrooms and ten residences of up to five, with thatched roofs, carved timber panels and native palms planted between them. The beach runs for about 2,100 feet and faces the sunset.
From the start the resort has run on the sun. Its microgrid, the largest in Fiji when it opened, pairs solar panels with Tesla batteries. Much of what reaches the table comes from the resort garden, local farmers and fishing villages. It held two MICHELIN Keys in 2025 and kept both in the 2026 selection, one of four two-Key hotels the guide lists in Fiji.
