The hotel
A small house on Paynes Bay.
The House sits on the beach at Paynes Bay, in the parish of St James, on the west coast a short drive north of Bridgetown. It began as one of the Elegant Hotels on Barbados, a group of beach resorts that Marriott bought in 2019. In 2024 Marriott said it would move the hotel into its Autograph Collection, and it now runs as an all-inclusive for adults only.
With 39 rooms and suites it is one of the smaller hotels on this stretch of coast. Breakfast comes with champagne in The Living Room, dinner is served by the beach, and the Deck Bar looks over the pool to the bay. A free water taxi runs to the sister resorts along the shore, where guests can eat and drink on the same plan.
