The hotel
The house of a fictional friend.
Jerónimo Cuervo, who designed the Teatro Cervantes, built this corner house in 1871, where Méndez Núñez meets Calle Granada and Plaza de Uncibay. It stood as homes for more than a century, a protected building in the old town, until the city approved its change to a hotel at the end of 2024. Cristine Bedfor opened it in 2025.
The brand began in Mahón, on Menorca, and Málaga is one of three houses built around Cristine Bedfor, an invented traveller. Marta de la Rica's studio did the interiors: stripes, rattan, patterned tile floors, stained-glass lamps in the library. The rooms are named after the friends of Cristine's childhood, and the restaurant after Anne, who rode horses.
- The courtyard An inner patio under a wooden gallery, where the hotel bar sits.
- The library Striped walls, stained-glass lamps and pictures, a room to read in between museums.
- On foot The cathedral, the Picasso Museum, the Carmen Thyssen and Calle Larios are a short walk away.
