The hotel
A family house in Dusit.
The Siam belongs to the Sukosol family, musicians and entertainers, and opened in June 2012 on three acres of riverbank in Dusit, the royal district. Bill Bensley designed it low and in the spirit of Bangkok's Art Deco years, and the rooms are filled with antiques, artworks and curios from the family's own collection. The hotel calls itself part hotel, part resort, part museum.
Connie's Cottage is the oldest building here, a teak house about a century old. The silk trader Jim Thompson found it, and it later belonged to Connie Mangskau, a Bangkok hostess whose guests included Jacqueline Kennedy. The Siam was No. 42 in the first World's 50 Best Hotels list, and in 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gives it three Keys, its highest rating. The hotel also keeps its own pier on the river, with a boat down to Sathorn.
- On the river A riverside infinity pool, a private pier, and a hotel boat down to Sathorn Pier from 10 am to 11 pm, which saves the city traffic.
- A Muay Thai ring The gym has its own ring for Thai boxing, for beginners and seasoned fighters, alongside private yoga and tai chi.
- Opium Spa Treatments with Sodashi products, a steam room and sauna, and a studio for Sak Yant, the traditional Thai tattoo.

Every suite has a king bed, high ceilings and a butler of its own. The villas add a private pool.
