The hotel
Seventy-six floors up.
The Lotte World Tower at Jamsil rises 555 metres over 123 floors, the tallest building in Korea. In April 2017 Lotte Hotels opened SIGNIEL, its top label, on floors 76 to 101: 235 rooms, 42 of them suites, and every window facing the skyline or the Han River. An underpass runs down to Jamsil Station and the Lotte World Mall, so guests can reach the subway and the shops without stepping outside.
Yannick Alléno, a French chef with three MICHELIN stars, was put in charge of all the food and drink, and his restaurant STAY sits on the 81st floor beside Bar 81. Bicena, a contemporary Korean restaurant, moved in the following year and holds a MICHELIN star. The spa, an indoor pool and a gym sit higher up the tower. Within a year of opening, Global Traveler named it the best new luxury hotel in Asia, and the MICHELIN Guide now gives it two Keys.
- STAY Yannick Alléno's modern French restaurant on the 81st floor, with the city below the windows.
- Bar 81 More than 80 champagnes on the list, on the same floor as STAY.
- Retreat SIGNIEL The spa, with an indoor pool, gym and sauna; all close on the last Wednesday of each month.
