The hotel
Built for the airport.
The hotel was inaugurated on 25 May 2016, after some twenty-eight months of building on land once worked by market gardeners at Port-Bouët. The Koira group of the Malian businessman Cessé Komé put up around sixty billion CFA francs, with loans from Afreximbank, BGFI and the West African development bank BIDC, and Rezidor took it on under the Radisson Blu name.
It stands about five hundred metres from Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International, the largest airport in Côte d'Ivoire. Grand-Bassam, the old colonial capital with its beaches and Quartier France, lies some twenty-two kilometres east along the coast, and Abidjan's business district, the Plateau, is in the other direction. Inside are a pool, a gym and thirteen meeting rooms, and the hotel shuttle runs to the terminal.
