Alarobia is a business district between Ivato and the centre, close to the offices and shopping malls that have grown up north of the old town. The hotel was built here in 2018, eight floors high, with views across the hills of the capital. Accor runs it under the Novotel name and gives it five stars, with 178 rooms and suites. Most of its guests, by the hotel's own reviews, come on business.

The name tells you what it was built for. The largest hall measures 700 square metres under a ceiling six metres high and seats up to 750, and three smaller rooms sit alongside. Off duty, there is a spa with sauna and hammam, two pools and a Japanese teppanyaki counter. The Tsarasaotra bird park is a short drive away, and the royal hill of Ambohimanga about an hour by car.
