The hotel

A riad turned towards the sea.

Le Médina stands on Avenue Mohamed V at the foot of the old town, with the Atlantic beach in front and the port a short walk away. Its plan borrows from the riad: the building runs in an ellipse around a central patio, with a large pool and a garden in the middle. It joined Accor's MGallery collection at the end of 2011. There are 117 rooms and suites, and every one has a balcony or a terrace.

Souiri craftsmen made much of the furniture, in thuya, ebony and lemon wood, and the rooms carry zellige and the colours of the town, Mogador red and Essaouira blue. The hotel works with Essaouira's music and arts festivals. In 2026 its old thalassotherapy centre was turned into a new spa with a hammam, with works due to end on 20 October. The heated indoor pool closed for the works; the outdoor pool stayed open.

  • The patio pool A large outdoor pool in the garden at the centre of the oval building.
  • MBEACH The hotel's own stretch of sand about a hundred metres away, with a terrace that serves from noon until 11 pm.
  • The new spa The former thalassotherapy area, made over in 2026 with a hammam, massages and treatments.
