The hotel

Pavilions on Medana Bay.

The Oberoi sits on Medana Bay, on the north-west coast of Lombok, 66 kilometres by road from the airport. The estate covers twenty-four acres of garden that run down to 550 metres of white sand. Out to sea lie the Gili islands, in plain view from the tables of the Sunbird Café. The drive from the airport takes about an hour and three-quarters, across the island from the south.

The roofs are thatched, and the restaurants and spa rooms are open to the air. Pavilions and villas are furnished in teak with local artwork and sunken marble baths, and the villas sit behind stone walls of their own. In 2024 the MICHELIN Guide placed it third among the top ten resorts in Indonesia, and it remains in the guide's 2026 hotel selection.
