The hotel
Ocean Two, renamed for oxygen.
The resort was Ocean Two Resort & Residences until Ocean Hotels, a Barbadian family company in the hotel business since 1992, rebuilt and enlarged it. Forty-two new suites facing the sea were added, and it reopened in late 2021 as O2 Beach Club & Spa, the name a nod to oxygen. The Trinidad designer Michelle Leotaud did the interiors, with pieces commissioned from Bajan artists.
It stands on the beach at Dover, near St Lawrence Gap, on the south coast between Bridgetown and the airport. Everything is included in the rate except the spa: six places to eat, seven bars and three pools, one of them on the roof. Guests can also dine at the five restaurants of Sea Breeze Beach House, a sister hotel two minutes away.
- On the roof Brisa, a tapas lounge with pergolas around the rooftop pool, and Oro on the ninth floor, modern European cooking with Caribbean touches and views all round.
- Acqua Spa On the eighth floor, facing the sea, with the only hammam on the island. Treatments are charged on top of the all-inclusive rate.
- For adults A river pool for adults only, with swim-up suites along it and H2O, the swim-up bar.
