The hotel

The InterContinental tower.

The tower opened in 1975 as the InterContinental Zagreb. William Bonham drew it with Slobodan Jovičić, Mira Hahl-Begović and Franjo Kamenski: a slab of seventeen floors rising to about sixty-five metres in the Lower Town. From the upper floors the city spreads out below, and the rooms on the north side look across to the Upper Town.

In the 1990s it took the name Opera, after the restaurant on its top floor. It has been The Westin Zagreb since 2002. The Mimara Museum and the Croatian National Theatre are a short walk away. The building also holds a spa of more than 1,400 square metres, the Crystal hall for up to 800 people and eight further meeting rooms. Diana, the bar, has a terrace of its own.

  • The spa More than 1,400 square metres run by World Class, with a heated indoor pool, saunas, a gym and treatment rooms.
  • Diana Bar Lounge & Terrace The hotel bar, with a terrace of its own.
  • On the museum side The Mimara Museum and the Croatian National Theatre are both a short walk from the door.
