The hotel
Macau without the casinos.
For more than twenty years this was the Westin Resort Macau, run by Starwood from 1993 on the far side of Coloane. When the licence ended in June 2014, Artyzen, the hotel arm of the Shun Tak group, took it over and gave it the Grand Coloane name. It is one of the few five-star hotels in Macau with no casino in it or near it.
The building faces Hac Sa, the long beach on the east shore, and the South China Sea beyond it. Behind it lies the 18-hole course of the Macau Golf and Country Club, which belongs to the same owning company. The resorts of the Cotai Strip are about ten minutes away by car. Inside are Kwun Hoi Heen for Cantonese cooking, Café Panorama and twelve meeting rooms, many opening onto a terrace over the beach.

Getting there
Flying to Coloane.
Macau International Airport lies on the eastern side of Taipa, about five kilometres from Coloane Village, some fifteen minutes by car to the resort by our estimate. Private jets use the Macau Business Aviation Center at the same airport, open around the clock, with customs and immigration in the building.
