The hotel

Three generations of Moosbruggers.

Erich and Irma Moosbrugger bought the Post in 1937. It was then a small inn with twenty beds, a farm and a village shop. Farming stopped in 1951. Their son Franz and his wife Kristl took over in 1964 and built one of the first indoor pools in Austria the next year. In 1972 the house was rebuilt and given the pale pink front it still has, and in 1976 it joined Relais & Châteaux.

Franz died in the Himalayas in 1988. Kristl carried on and in 1990 became the first woman named Hotelier of the Year. Their son Florian and his wife Sandra have run the hotel since 1999. A new wing of 2010 added the spa with two pools and eleven rooms, and in 2017 the old dining room was given a glass front.
