The hotel
The Lucians of Oberlech.
In 1961 Helga and Fridolin Lucian turned the family barn in Oberlech into the Burg Stüble, a terrace where skiers stopped for a glass of fresh milk. It became a restaurant and then the Burg Hotel. Fridolin went on to finish a tunnel system under the hamlet in 1997, which keeps Oberlech free of cars all winter.
Burg Vital opened that December. It was planned as a spa wing for the Burg Hotel and became a hotel of its own, run by Thomas and Hannelore Lucian. The rooms sit in seven chalets, some classic, some contemporary, each room with a sauna and a balcony facing the mountains. The resort also keeps the Griggeler Stuba, a small dining room with two MICHELIN stars and set menus only.

- Vital Spa Three floors with an indoor pool, several saunas, a salt float pool and a heated outdoor pool with the mountains around it.
- Car-free Oberlech The hamlet sits on a plateau above Lech and is closed to cars in winter. The cable car from Lech carries guests and luggage until 1 am.

Before you go.
- Arrival Check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 11 am. In winter, collect cable car tickets at the Oberlecherbahn office and park in the Anger garage opposite. Tell reception if you will arrive after 9 pm.
- Seasons Open 4 July to 20 September 2026 and 4 December 2026 to 12 April 2027.
- Children Welcome. In summer there is a programme for children from three to twelve.
- Pets Dogs on request, for a daily charge, and not in the restaurants or the spa.
Getting there
Flying to Lech.
Innsbruck is the nearest airport for scheduled flights and private jets, about an hour and a half by car to Lech; Friedrichshafen is about the same. Zurich, with the widest choice of long-haul flights, is about two and a half hours away. In winter the last stretch is the cable car up to Oberlech.

- No. Oberlech is car-free in winter. You park in Lech and take the cable car up, with your luggage carried for you.
- Is the Griggeler Stuba included in half board?
- No. It serves set menus only and must be booked separately.
