The hotel
Tokyo manners on Wireless Road.
Okura began in Tokyo in 1962. Fifty years later it chose Bangkok for the first hotel under its Okura Prestige label, which opened on 14 May 2012. The hotel fills the upper floors of Park Ventures Ecoplex, a glass tower at the Ploenchit intersection on Wireless Road, among embassies and banks, with a covered walkway to the Skytrain at Phloen Chit.
Every room sits on the 26th floor or higher, finished in light wood and natural tones, with Japanese washlets in the bathrooms. One floor down, the 25-metre infinity pool is cantilevered out from the building. Beside it, Elements, inspired by Ciel Bleu, cooks French contemporary food and holds one MICHELIN star. Yamazato brings its chefs and produce from Japan, and the spa has five treatment rooms.
