The hotel
A river house on Charoenkrung.
Capella Bangkok welcomed its first guest on 5 October 2020, the group's first hotel in Thailand. It sits within the Chao Phraya Estate, a riverside development by Country Group, just off Charoenkrung, the oldest paved road in the city. Andy Miller and Richard Scott Wilson of Hamiltons designed the building, and the studio BAMO did the interiors. The spa, Auriga, covers 1,074 square metres.
Every one of the 101 rooms, suites and villas looks at the river. Four years after opening, the hotel was named No. 1 in The World's 50 Best Hotels 2024, up from eleventh the year before. The MICHELIN Guide gives it three Keys, and Forbes Travel Guide rates it Five-Star. Côte, from Mauro Colagreco of Mirazur, holds two MICHELIN stars, and Phra Nakhon cooks regional Thai food beside the river.
- Côte by Mauro Colagreco Riviera cooking from the chef of Mirazur, with two MICHELIN stars and a wine list of more than 550 labels.
