The hotel
Sathorn, the COMO way.
COMO Metropolitan opened in 2003, the Bangkok sister of the Metropolitan in London, under Christina Ong's COMO group. In a city of colonial grand dames and big chain towers it went the other way: white walls, dark wood, few ornaments, and staff in black designer uniforms. It stands on South Sathorn Road, in the business district. Rooms run from 43-square-metre studios to the two-bedroom COMO Suite on the top floor.
The rooms take their colour from Thai ceramics, carved wood and woven headboards, and the walls carry work by the painter Natee Utarit. Wellness runs through the place, from the COMO Shambhala spa to the healthy dishes on every menu. Downstairs, nahm cooks Thai food under Pim Techamuanvivit and has held a MICHELIN star for nine years in a row.
- nahm Thai cooking by Pim Techamuanvivit, with a terrace over the pool and a MICHELIN star for the ninth year running.
- COMO Shambhala The spa, with a gym, yoga, steam rooms and a jacuzzi.
- The pool An outdoor pool, with drinks and grilled skewers served beside it.
