The hotel
A Richard Rogers tower on the island.
Yeouido is the island in the Han where Seoul's financial and government institutions gathered. Its newest landmark is Parc1, the complex of office towers and The Hyundai Seoul department store designed by Richard Rogers. The hotel sits in one of the towers, among the tallest buildings in the country, with glass from floor to ceiling on almost every level and the Han River directly below.
It opened on 24 February 2021, the first Fairmont in Korea, with 31 floors linked to the subway and the department store. The rooms are in neutral tones with marble bathrooms and leather armchairs set by the windows. In 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave it one Key, one of five hotels in Seoul to hold any. Gallery 7, a whole floor given over to private events, sits within the building.
- Mariposa A dining room and terrace on the 29th floor, cooking modern European tasting menus with the river and the skyline in view.
- M29 The rooftop bar on the same level, where the counter runs a cocktail omakase.
- The neighbourhood The Hyundai Seoul, the subway and the riverside lawns of Yeouido Hangang Park are all a short walk away.
