The hotel

Paris on the Reforma.

Work on the tower began in 2014 at number 297 on Paseo de la Reforma, the avenue that runs from Chapultepec to the historic centre. The builders kept a structure of 1983 and wrapped a new tower around it, rising 171 metres to the roof. The hotel opened in 2019, within sight of the Angel of Independence, with 275 rooms and suites behind floor-to-ceiling glass and a pool on the 38th floor.

Sofitel brings its French manners, and the house adapts them to Mexico City. The spa works with L'Occitane and draws on pre-Hispanic traditions, Balta pairs the Mediterranean with Mexico over a wood fire, and Bajel, in the MICHELIN Guide, cooks in an open kitchen. In 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave the hotel one Key in its Mexico selection, one of eighteen Key hotels in the city.

  • Cityzen The rooftop restaurant and bar on the 38th floor, with contemporary cooking, signature cocktails and the city laid out below.
  • A pool in the sky The heated indoor saltwater pool and the Technogym gym share the 38th floor with Cityzen.
  • The Angel in view Many rooms look straight down Reforma to the Angel of Independence; others face the skyline or the city.

Is there a pool?
Yes. A heated indoor saltwater pool on the 38th floor, next to the gym and the Cityzen rooftop.
Where do private jets land for Mexico City?
At Toluca. General aviation is barred from Benito Juárez International, so private flights use Toluca, about an hour to an hour and a half from Reforma by road, our estimate.
