The hotel
Built by the Bons, still in the family.
Anton Bon commissioned the architect Karl Koller in 1911, and Suvretta House opened on 21 December 1912 with 350 beds and a hundred bathrooms, on the Chasellas plateau outside the village. Bon died in 1915; his widow Maria ran the house, then their son Hans. In 1935 Hans Bon and the actor Douglas Fairbanks opened the first ski lift in Switzerland, from Suvretta up to Randolins.
The hotel closed for the Second World War and reopened in 1946. The Candrian-Bon family still owns it, and Esther and Peter Egli have managed it since 2014. In 2025 it stayed shut through summer and autumn, only the second time in its history, while a spa of about 4,670 square metres was built on three levels. It opened with the winter season that December.
- A lift of its own The hotel's ski lift starts about a hundred metres from the entrance and runs up to the Corviglia slopes. The hotel calls itself the only ski-in, ski-out resort in St. Moritz.
- Suvretta Spa & Wellness About 4,670 square metres by Ritter & Schumacher, with a 25-metre indoor pool, a heated outdoor infinity pool of 17.5 metres, saunas and a cold pool.
- Two huts on the mountain The hotel runs Chasellas at 1,936 metres and Trutz at 2,211 metres, both on the slopes above.
