The hotel
A Thirties house on St Ives Bay.
Boskerris was built in the 1930s on the slope above Carbis Bay, among Monterey pines, with St Ives on the far side of the water. The MICHELIN Guide calls it a Thirties seaside charmer. Its latest redesign left the rooms in pale pastels and the lounge and bar small and comfortable. The hotel stays intimate in scale, and its restaurant keeps the evenings lively.
The house keeps to fifteen rooms, and most of them face the bay, with Godrevy lighthouse out to the east and St Ives harbour to the west. The sandy beach at Carbis Bay is half a kilometre down the hill. The branch line stops five minutes away, and the train takes you on into St Ives. Breakfast is served in a Provençal-style dining room that looks out to sea.
- The terrace A sea-view terrace for drinks and dinner as the sun goes down over St Ives Bay.
- The Celebration Room The top room, with a super-king bed, a sunken corner bath and a view over the whole bay.
- Carbis Bay The sand and surf of Carbis Bay beach lie half a kilometre down the hill.
