The hotel
The last villa on La Concha.
Villa Favorita is a nineteenth-century house on Zubieta street, and the last historic villa still standing on the seafront of La Concha. The promenade runs past the door, the beach lies just below it, and Santa Clara island sits out in the middle of the bay. The old town and its pintxos bars are a short walk east along the front.
It opened as a hotel in 2020, restored as a small house of twenty-five rooms with interiors by Rafael Sitges in Atlantic blues and neutral tones. Some rooms face the bay, others the city, and a few have terraces. It takes adults only. The same team runs the Hotel de Londres, about a hundred metres along the front, and a small spa has since been added.

Flying to San Sebastián.
San Sebastián airport, at Hondarribia, is about 16 kilometres east, around twenty minutes by car by our estimate. Its short runway limits the size of jet, so larger private aircraft land at Biarritz, about 41 kilometres away, or at Bilbao.
