The hotel
In town, away from the resorts.
Most of the large hotels in Aqaba stand in purpose-built zones along the shore, such as Saraya and Ayla. Bratus sits outside them, on Prince Hasan Street, downtown. It is run by an independent Jordanian hospitality group with a focus on sustainability, and it is the only hotel in Aqaba with a MICHELIN Key. Inside are a café, a restaurant and a small spa.
The rooms mix modern and classic. Walls are panelled in wood, in shades of ivory, taupe and forest green, and the bathrooms are laid with vintage-style tiles. Some rooms have wrought-iron balconies, and the views run either to the mountains behind the town or to the Red Sea. Al-Ghandour Beach is about a sixteen-minute walk, with Aqaba Fort close by.
- The town on the doorstep Aqaba Fort and the Royal Yacht Club are nearby, and Al-Ghandour Beach is about sixteen minutes away on foot.
- Small spa A compact spa with a steam room, and a fitness room alongside.
- Balconies Some rooms have wrought-iron balconies looking towards the mountains or the Red Sea.
