The hotel

A house named for the god of snow.

Ullr was the Norse god of snow, and the house that carries his name stands in the middle of St. Anton, between the Galzig and Rendl cable cars. The house is the work of Franziska Alber and Michael Gfall, who both grew up in the village, and its style is Alpine and Nordic: pine, stone and hessian, large windows and very little clutter.

Michael Gfall is also the host. The forty rooms run from doubles to suites of two and three bedrooms, and the Grand Suite has a sauna of its own. In 2026 the MICHELIN Guide gave Ullrhaus its first Key and gave Ullrs Gourmetstube, the gourmet dining room in the house, one star. The Ullr Spa adds a 17-metre indoor pool, a Finnish sauna and a bio sauna.

Getting there

Flying to St. Anton.

Innsbruck is about 100 kilometres away, just over an hour by car, and a direct train runs to St. Anton. Private jets land at Innsbruck, where winter weekend slots and short parking limits apply, or at Zurich, about 200 kilometres away.

Business & First Class Airline flights Zurich has the widest choice of long-haul arrivals and a direct train to St. Anton; Innsbruck and Munich serve the main European hubs. Railjet and Eurocity trains reach the village every two hours. Request a fare Private Jet Private flights The General Aviation Center at Innsbruck is open from 06:30 to 20:00, with slots required on winter weekends and a sixty-minute parking limit from Thursday evening to Sunday evening in the season, so aircraft usually drop and go.
