The hotel

The west coast, facing Es Vedrà.

Ibiza was a farming island until the 1970s, when hippies, painters and the international set came for its coves and its untouched hills. Cala Carbó, on the south-west coast near Sant Josep, was one of the places they found. Petunia stands a few steps above the cove, looking straight out at Es Vedrà, the rock that rises from the sea off the shore.

Beaumier, the group behind Les Roches Rouges and Capelongue in France, brought in Atelier Saint-Lazare for the rooms: white walls, raw wood and natural cloth. Juan Masedo replanted the gardens with native species, Juan Ramos made the tiled tables, and the glassworks Gordiola, founded in 1719, blew the glass. The MICHELIN Guide has given the hotel a Key every year since 2024.

Ibiza Airport is 21 kilometres away, roughly 25 to 30 minutes by car, our estimate. Private jets use the same airport and its general aviation terminal, a short drive across the south of the island to Cala Carbó.
